Aesthetic analysis

One of the most important parts of the contemporary modern orthodontics is aesthetic analysis. The examination of the smile and facial aesthetics is a certain new approach in the process of the treatment planning.

This is partly due to the fact that aesthetic is the one, which is most important to the patients; on the other hand with the development of the techniques it has become possible to change many facial and smile parameters.

Basically, most people think that having straight teeth is the only aesthetic importance, which is connected to orthodontics. Contrarily many features can change during an orthodontic treatment. Those features, which are also changeable are for example the fullness of the smile, fullness of lips, the profile and other smile and facial aesthetic parameters.

One of the main principle of our office is that we thoroughly examine and review all the aesthetic parameters of the patient and share the information with them how we can the possibly change these features with the help of orthodontic methods.

We examine aesthetic parameters on the level of teeth, gum, smile and face according to the American standards.

Orthodontics has many possibilities to change the aesthetic parameters. This is generally possible by moving only the teeth with braces, but in some cases this aesthetical treatment objective can only be achieved with adjunctive movement of the jaws. In addition in some cases in order to achieve maximum aesthetic result, we also consult and cooperate with specialists in other areas of dentistry or related medical specialties, like with plastic surgeons, or with aesthetic dentists.
