Surgically supported treatments

There are cases, in which in order to achieve our treatment goals, we need to move not only teeth, but dental jaws, to correct the bite and the facial aesthetics. In childhood there is a possibility to do that correction of the jaws by influencing the growth direction. In adulthood, most of the time these corrections of dental jaws are attained by surgical assistance, since after the finishing of growth the only possibility to move the jaws in greater dimension needs surgical intervention. This kind of need for surgery is obvious, when there is a big visible difference between the jaws, but there are also relative indications, when there is even a possibility to mask the difference, between the jaws by moving only the teeth, however the overall facial aesthetic result would be disadvantageous.

In these cases the importance of making a thorough aesthetic analysis in treatment planning is even greater. We are aware of that this is a very important decision for our patients. To help this decision we provide all kinds of support, including consultation with the surgeon. Also we arrange consultation with patients, who have previously been through such a surgical intervention.

These treatments give a big opportunity for the significant transformation of the face (extreme makeover). During the consultation with the surgeon there is a possibility to discuss matters concerning plastic surgery (possibility of correcting the nose, chin, lips at the same time as changing the jaws and profile)
